Pilot Getaways and RAF Acquire American Air Campers Association
Jan. 24, 2012 — The American Air Campers Association (AACA) signed a deal with Pilot Getaways magazine and the Recreational Aviation Foundation (RAF) that provides benefits to their members while expanding the value and reach of the AACA database. This valuable pilot resource is the product of extensive research by AACA and contains information about airport camping facilities, transportation, attractions, dining, and lodging at more than 600 airports nationwide.
Under the new agreement, Pilot Getaways has acquired AACA and assumes management of the AACA website, americanaircampers.net. AACA members will continue to enjoy uninterrupted access to the website for the duration of their current subscription. , enabling them to plan “Pilot Getaways” for themselves and their families. AACA members will also receive a Pilot Getaways magazine subscription good through Jun 2012 as well as an Introductory RAF membership good until May 1, 2012 as a bonus. Furthermore, RAF Donor Members and Pilot Getaways subscribers will gain access to the AACA database.
“This agreement gives our members the benefits of all three organizations, and helps unite the recreational pilot community,” said Don Abbott, founder and president of AACA. “Air camping puts us in touch with the magnificent beauty of the country, while bringing families closer together. I’m happy to see such a large community of pilots participate in this venture.”
